Photo of the week, September 9th, 2022 - Queen Elizabeth

30 odd years ago, I photographed HRH Queen Elizabeth the 2nd at the Commonwealth Games village in Auckland. I’ll never forget how happy and welcoming she was, and this image of her smiling really wasn’t one you saw a lot in recent years.

She seemed so approachable (at least... for royalty) and just exuded happiness on the day, smiling, laughing and joking with both the athletes and the assembled media.

RIP Queen Elizabeth II

Shot on film with a Nikon F3 and scanned from print, so a bit scratched in parts but fine overall...
